....today's surfing found Glenn, Joel, Big Fella, and myself surrounded at Secrets by flesh eating jellyfish.....lucky for me and the Big Fella we had ling-sleeve rashies covered with short johns and booties, although we still got stung pretty bad.....they were floating in the take-off spot, and all over actually.....we did our best, I was on my 6'10" and it was enough board, it made some late drops, good turns, and even a couple barrels as well.....and speaking of barrels.....yesterday afternoon after sneaking out to the Outside Corner on my 9'6", got a few there, the big ones, and the crowd that started to join 'ol Lana and I were feeling left out so I moved on to the Outside Peak, and it was hard to line them up there.....got 1 or 2 before the Bommey called to me......I figured I got the 9'6" for the Bommey, so why not give it a crack.....it was 6'-8' and a bit inconsistent.....once I finally got my spot I went for one, trying to look at my feet while not f-ing up the drop and trying not to go to far down on my bottom turn....well you get the idea.....I went to far down on the bottom turn, barley made it around the section pulled up into the barrel and got pinched, and I got bounced, and prepared for a horrible beating I grabbed for my leg-rope and started climbing, made it to the top, and got back out to the Bommey relatively easy.......that gave me some confidence, and I went back to that giant peak for more....got a few more, even a late drop before I lined up a big one, took-off sideways and got on the gas, I went to the bottom to avoid the section, pulled up into the barrel waiting for the inevitable beating, I could see the hole shrinking, and the next thing I knew, out I came......no one more amazed then myself.......to top it of it there was Big Jim down the line watching the whole thing go down(he actually saw my other good wave at the Bommey last week, from the same down the line angle)......a witness to my stand-up Bommey barrel.....I knew those lazy Balo's on the cliff would not be shooting at 3pm or not looking towards the Bommey(I was right) as I was the only one getting waves....there was one other guy out but he did not get any waves, I was watching him from the Outside Peak, barely scratching over the sets at the Bommey....that is what intrigued me to go and see if I could do any better.....I am glad I did, also glad I did not get caught at the Bommey, like I usually do good times on the Bukit.....Temples was good today, really good with less jellyfish, then to the Main Peak and an in and out barrel to top off the morning......today's picture is the outside peak from 2 days ago, check how big the white water is that is about to run over the surfer, who has nowhere to go......
