……click play above for the song of the day "they love each other"….I listened to a couple hours of the jerry band on the road today

thought for the day----> while one is young is the time to investigate, to experiment with everything….the school should help its young people to discover their vocations and responsibilities, and not merely cram their minds with facts and technical knowledge; it should be the soil in which they can grow without fear, happily and integrally…….

Philippines/day 36

.....…….in today's "tales from the hollywood bowl"……I woke up in need of a change……angeles reminds my of a crack run, minus the crack……it's like ventura blvd on steroids……the place I am in is dingy……old……so I decided to go rent a motor-bike and head to the beach…….I put my destinations into google, it said 2 hours and 45 minutes to my destination……as I was getting on the toll/expressway there were a few restrictions…….of course I fell into that category, as any motorbike under 400cc's was forbidden……so I did a u'ey……..and off on an adventure I went……most people I asked where baler was had no clue…….so I drove, and made a few wrong turns……I got to a town called tarlac…….I was told I was 2 hours away……..2 hours from there I stopped and filled up my tank, and they said I was 2 hours away…….I hoping it does not get dark as I have no clue where I am going, in a country wher I've seen more guns(revolvers/shotguns/mack 10's/m16's) so my head has me being abducted(I've seen the national geographic channel about the guerrillas who abduct the missionaries, now I am not preaching or anything, but I look like their boss)so I start seeing signs to baler, so I thought that positive……the road goes on forever………I think I am getting closeand the road turns to dirt……no one around…….I am going through rice fields……I figure I am lost for sure…….I stop and have a piss, some water, and stretch the legs I see a guy coming……as he comes up the little bridge I am parked on in the middle of the rice fields I sat where is the beach???….he said keep going turn left on the highway and keep going…..I asked how long???….I thought for sure it would be the 2 hours response I've been sick of hearing……he looked at the bike and said 15 minutes…….so on and on and on and on….a small village….paved road…..dirt road…….paved road…..dirt road…….paved road…..dirt road…….paved road…..dirt road……finally I pop out in civilisation……amen……I saw a sign that said Sabang…..I heard that name and saw it also on the surf report/forecast site……..2 minutes down that road and I saw the water…..surf…..surfers in the water…..4'-5' surf……I stopped….had a look……now find a place to stay…..not too expensive, safe…..I passed on the 1200 pesos aircon/tv/internet crack den……saw another for 500 pesos, it was smaller then a prison cell with bunk-beds…..I stayed there for 10 minutes contemplating…..I went on…..walked through another, no one around(it was right on the water, saw a couple surfers trying to paddle out, it was a relentless beachie) at another…….across from where I was parked there was a small shop in front of some rooms…..I asked if she had any rooms, she showed me one for 1000pesos……fan, clean, hot water, bathroom and shower in my room……then she went and asked her husband to come talk to me……600pesos was his price……sold…….I borrowed a screwdriver adjusted the idle, as I'd been running hot……asked the husband who the best surfer around is…..he knew him and where he lives so we hopped in his trike and off we went…..the best guy was at a contest up north but his brother, was there, I asked where he was surfing tomorrow and could iI join them and shoot photos…….he invited me out drinking with them……..I declined and asked what time he wanted me there in the  morning……7:30 was the departure time…..I went and got some supplies…….had a coffee, a big bowl of oats and had a lay down……long day on the road……today's photo is of my inner child………below…..……..……the sign-series continues…………….below(sea-level)…………..below………….is from the un-ridden wave series………below……..…is from the point-&-shoot series……another sunset at togat, after a great day of surfing.…….and finally from the opening ceremony of the siargao surf comp………
