......I am so sore from surf.....it has not been great conditions but size none the less......it has been raining a lot, so we've been wet.......all good....all things considered.......it's chinese new year.........Kung Hei Fat Choy.......it's the year of the dragon......I spent a lot of chinese new years with the Grateful Dead and my buddy "Jabba".....I saw most of the said grateful dead shows with Steve....below is a shot from the wharf in San Francisco, it's of Bender and Ferg,  I love the look on the lady's(in the background)face....

....we use to get that look a lot, actually I still get that look from complete strangers today.....I shot this photo(probably a chinese new year) in 1986 I would guess.....I miss steve or ferg or fergie as most know him as.....he died august 3rd 2011 from cancer.......he was 45 years old.....I think of him often....he comes into my head during my morning meditation in the Indian Ocean......I am glad he got clean after a long hard relapse.....he is one(of a short list) of people who I would show up for no matter what......I am glad he got to come to Bali with us on a trip, we had a few laughs, and saw some sights(that I would not have seen if he was not with us)....below is a picture Todd took at the Harmony hotel in Seminyak, Bali.....Ferg loved laying in the sun, on a lounge chair with a garden hose, he could do it for hours........

........some people touch your life in a very powerful way.....Ferg was one of those people for me......most of the time we spent together we were both clean......I met him in 1981 or 1982......that started a relationship that lasted 30 years, and still continues on today......in my head, and on facebook.......I got to know his family and friends and he got to know mine......he became good friends with some of my close friends.....I miss my pal.....and.....on a brighter note.....the photo below is of Steve as a little one......this photo sums up Ferg.....you can also tell from this photo why we became fast friends.......
