......I spent a few days in town.....macet(pronounced machet) or traffic as we like to call it in the west....well here in Bali it is un-bearable....even on a motor-bike.......I am sure some of the tourists will never return to Bali because of it....unfortunately the surf tourist will not be detoured by the daily traffic jams...and the Kuta crowd who come to drink and party, are not driving around much anyhow so the party industry will not be affected.....the indonesian infrastructure is not even close to catching up with the progress.......and the progress is moving at warp speed.......so us resident aliens, who suffer from road rage from years in our respective countries, get to introduce it here in the lawless avenues of bali.......Mr Brad broke a guy's jaw a few weeks back......I see it happening, I hear it......I even scream now and then, honk, and speed up when idiots try to pass......up on the bukit it is a little more laid back, and I do not go to far so the traffic does not affect me.....when I lived in Hawaii in the mid/late 80's, I lived in the country(the north shore)......now I rarely went to Halewa  which was 7 miles away.......Waikiki(or town) was out of the question........it's not as far from the bukit to Seminyak  as it was from Sunset to Waikiki although it takes as much time to get there.....thank god I am a country卐boy.....today's photo is one of my favorites from the trip......it captures "travel"......I like to travel, and it is grueling at times.......always tired, from the normal schedule being out of whack, trying to get just a wink of sleep, in any position that will allow even 5 minutes of shut eye......the boat rockin from side to side.......air-con on sub-zero....music on decibel 10......sometimes it's really hot, so you sweat, and the tv will be on decibel 10....so for me and my traveling companions(which today's picture captures, also reflects the majority of the travelers in indonesia) we grab a wink here or there, whenever the opportunity arises........
